With all the bad blood that seems to be gushing from the New York Jets these days, a revealing peak inside the drama came from a surprising source: former Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson.
Among the topics that L.T. discussed on his recent visit to the Inside the NFL:
- Discord in the Jet’s locker room
- Whether Mark Sanchez is lazy or pampered
- Alterations in the Jets offensive game planning
- Rex Ryan’s bold predictions and trash talk in the media
Tomlinson’s attitude towards the situation can be summed up in this simple statement that he opened the interview with:
It’s as bad as I’ve ever been around…
After opening up so candidly about the situation in the New York locker room it’s highly doubtful that he’ll be back in a green and white uniform next season. Of course if he leaves the Jets, the immediate question San Diego fans might be wondering is, could he return to the Bolts?
It would be nice to see Tomlinson finish where he started, but it may not be feasible considering the Chargers already have Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews. Signing for a minimum salary might not necessarily be the issue, but if L.T. comes back to play, it’s likely because he still feels he has something left in the tank and not to be a third string spot running back.
